END OF IMPRESSION: CT TEMPORAL BONES, WITHOUT CONTRAST [**Date**] CLINICAL INDICATION: Cholesterol granuloma versus fluid TECHNIQUE: High-resolution 0.75 mm sections through the temporal bones were obtained in the axial plane and were reformatted in the coronal plane. Images were viewed on soft tissue and bone windows. COMPARISON: MR Brain dated [**Date**] FINDINGS: On the right side, the external auditory canal is patent. The tympanic membrane is not identified as the middle ear cavity is completely opacified, however it appears retracted inward. The ossicles appear intact, and no definite erosion is seen.
